Abstract
In this era, food security is a strategic issue that has received global attention since the trend of climate change, population growth, and increasing global warming threaten food production for humans. Food is a natural and artificial resource that is used as a source of energy for the wider community. A total of 70 districts, or 16.83 percent of 416 districts, have a low IKP (Food Security Index) score (Bapanas, 2022). Pasuruan Regency is one of the areas with food vulnerability according to the Food Security and Vulnerability Atlas (FSVA) map issued by the National Food Agency (Bapanas), with the highest priority being priority 2. Developing food production centers is one effort that can be made to improve food security. The method in this research was carried out using qualitative and quantitative approaches. The analysis technique in the core research used LQ analysis combined with cluster analysis and spatial overlay analysis to identify priorities for developing agricultural production centers based on the level of food insecurity that occurs. The overall analysis results provide recommendations for the development of agricultural center areas and directions for priority programs implemented to improve food security. The results of the LQ and Cluster Analysis analyses indicate that the potential for developing agricultural production centers in Pasuruan Regency can be carried out in Tutur District, Kejayan District, Wonorejo District, Purwosari District, Pandaan District, Beji DistrClusict, Kraton District, Grati District, and Nguling District. Meanwhile, the results of the overlay analysis with the food vulnerability map, namely priority 2 and priority 3, show that the priority for developing food commodity centers includes Grati District, Kejayan District, Kraton District, Nguling District, Pandaan District, Purwosari District, Tutur District, and Wonorejo District. Several directions for developing priority areas to improve food security in Pasuruan Regency include the determination of production center areas by the local government, increasing food commodity production intensification programs, and increasing efficiency in food distribution in food vulnerable areas.
